About "PartitionMemorial"

02 May 2012

We seek a healing of the human conflict that took lives of so many, in 1947. We believe that discussing, talking, and grieving, though hurtful at first, can be a path in this process.

At the same time, we celebrate the resolve of the survivors who rebuilt their families, and livelihoods against long odds. They are a beacon to the strength of the human spirit.

Time has come to forgive and look ahead.

We foresee three steps in this initiative:

1) To create an anthology of life experiences, either personal, or handed down in families to the children and grandchildren.

2) To form a Trust to create an understanding of the human tragedy and the historical significance of the 1947 Partition.

3) To establish a memorial, and then later, a museum to remember this human tragedy, so that it does not occur again.

Please come forth to lead this initiative and endow it with your wisdom, fortitude and commitment.
